Love it — always getting better! :)
When I upgraded to Lion (way back when ^^) I tried out Yoink for about 20 minutes and knew I had to have it. It’s been especially useful on my laptop, where I usually can’t see my desktop. I use it every day working across folders, Desktop, external drives, and applications. In addition to files, you can drag web links, snippets, and now even color swatches into Yoink. I also like taht you can Quick View files as they sit in the Yoink window — since Yoink follows you across Desktops, this gives you access to the info in that file whever you are.
Yoink can be positioned on the sides of your screen, or can be set to follow your mouse around. Have it ignore certain applications if you don’t need it (e.g. Mail, so you can drag your email around without Yoink popping up). Add a group of files to the Yoink window and control the group, or un-group them and have access to each individually. Lock a file to keep dropping it in different places (BEST feature ever!!).
The Yosemite updates changed the look just a little without reducing functinality, with the added bonus of adjusting the size of the Yoink window — from full top-to-bottom, to itty bitty living space, to the old 3-item default (size; you can add more files and it scrolls), or have it adjust automatically.
Yoink is an essential app for productivity. I’m thrilled that its stellar development continues!
(Extra bonus — I’ve never dealt with a real bug in Yoink. Ever. So I never hesitate to update it.)
