Yoink - Better Drag and Drop App Reviews

Without this tool, I’d hate my macbook. Now, I love it!

Why didn’t Apple make this function native in all it’s Operating Systems? It took Yoink to make the mac what it should be. I use Yoink everytime I fire-up the macbook. Can’t imagine not having it, now that I’ve found it. I do a lot with photos and file management, and I can manipulate files so easily with this tool. Yoink has about a 6 second learning curve, it is that easy. I am grateful to Yoink developer(s).

Can’t imagine living without this

title says it all. The best $7 I’ve ever spent on software. Dead simple.

Indispensible

Forever one of the first things I install on a clean system.

Perfect utility

I’m using this tool quite a lot and I really love it. It is simple, well-designed and really handy. And I trully apreciate that developers update the app regularly. It’s good that they love it as much as we do.

Worthy App

This app keeps getting better. One of those that you wonder how you ever got along without. The developer, Matthias, shows an unequivocal commitment to the quality of Yoink and an unswerving commitment to his customers. I encourage everyone to download this product.

The most productivity App to manage files

Whe you have multiple screens, multiple apps and windows sometimes move files, attacching files to a doc or an email could be mess, you just get lost. Yoink resolved this problem to me, not matter where I’m working if I have a file or an image at hand that I need to use o move later, just drag it up to yoink (even emaill attachments or emails messages itself) and when I need it, just drag the file where it belongs.

Love it

I use Yoink everyday. I basically email for a living and attach sometimes dozens of files a day. Yoink makes moving files around way easier, especially if you use your programs in full screen. And lets be honest, if you use a laptop, you basically have to use full screen. Matthias does a great job keeping his app up to date. Very responsive and helpful. I don’t remember how much I paid for the app, but it doesn’t matter, I would buy it again without a second thought. It’s a love/hate thing. I hate that Apple’s OS X workflow makes apps like this necessary, but I love that guys like Matthias take care of us by creating fixes that are fantastic.

Perfect

It’s perfect for what it’s meant to do. There when you need it, and gone when you don’t. Would not change anything about it

Real time saver

Yoink really makes organizing and reorganizing files on the Mac much, much easier. The app has great action and responsive developer support. It’s one of those little pieces of software that simply does what it says it will do.

Hi Yoink latest version has stopped working with MS Outlook / El Capitan. Earlier this was working fine and Yoink was an indispensable option for me. After the recent upgrade I cant see Yoink Drop window when i try to drag and drop attachments from Outlook emails. Both in Full Screen and Floating window. Normal functions are still working. Can you please fix this ? regards, Gautam

Simply indispensable

If you do a lot of drag and drop file manipulation on your Mac, this app is a must-buy. No more juggling keystrokes to switch app or window focus while holding the mouse button, and no more struggling to find the right window thumbnail in Mission Control. Yoink is worth so much more than its price, and I’d rank its effect on my workflow right up there with apps like Dropbox and BetterTouchTool. Do yourself a favor and try it out.

Very helpful!

As more and more of my computing gets done on my phone and tablet, I use my Mac a lot less. So, overtime, I’ve been trimming down the programs installed to keep my old 2011 iMac running a bit longer. Yoink keeps making the cut to stay installed for keeping productivity high! If you still use a Mac for work (personal or business) you probably need this!

More than a copy/paste replacement

For those of you thinking, “Man, why would I need this utility? I can just drag and drop or copy paste anyway!” Well, you’re wrong. First of all, as more and more of my work is in on-line tools, many of those tools allow you to drag files onto them to upload or otherwise manipulate them… however, you cannot just drag that image out of your browser and into that on-line app, for some reason that doesn’t work. Yoik allows you to drag that image out of your browser, into the Yoink sidebar, where apperantly it undergoes a transformation into a real file and then from yoink into your favorite on-line app. That, and my other key usage is dragging that file out of one of my millions of windows I have open at a time, set it aside until I can find the target window and them easily grab it and move it back. Also very useful for aggregating several files from different places for a move into a singular place. Great tool, zero problems with it, does what it says it does.

invaluable tool that saves so much time and effort

Such a simple little tool that makes desktop and finder manipulation such a breeze. Yes, you could copy and paste, but to see what you have and then gather them together is a tremendous time saver.

Productivity is key

There are many applications of all types and kinds. For Mac small business users similar to me, however, the acid test is whether an application improves my productivity. Yoink does this on two significant levels. First, reduction of steps in procedure (from any application or source, drag and drop, and hold). Second, ease of access (it is always “there” without bloat). This is a very good application.

Astonishingly useful

I’ve become so accustomed to using this app to hold files while I switch between windows that I get annoyed if I use a computer that doesn’t have it. An essential app.

Essential elegance...

It does what its supposed to do flawlessly, and has done so for me since I bought it almost three years ago. Actually, this and the Dev’s other app, Screenfloat are absolutley essential for getting the most out of the limited screen real estate on my MacBook Air 11”. There are two other apps out there that do what Yoink does, but IMHO, not as well.

fantastically helpful

I am lost without it. Window management in OS X is always a bit of a trick, and its difficult to drag and drop things when theyre scattered among different windows on different Mission Control screens. Yoink fixes this issue easily and simply, by giving you someplace to set things down during your drag and drop operations. You can find the thing you want to grab, drop it in Yoinks shelf, and then click around to find a place to put it. (You can keep them there a while while you compose and collect, too) Dragging works in and out of almost all applications Ive tried, too, and sometimes even better than youd expect. If you need to upload a photo from Photos to Craigslist, for example, you cannot drag from the application to the browser. But if you drag to Yoink first it forces Photos to do an export, and then you can drag merrily into a browser-based upload button.

excellent and useful

I use Yoink so frequently I often forget it’s not a built-in feature in OSX! It’s become a natural part of my workflow.

Does what it says

It’s surprising how useful this app is. I find myself using it more than I expected I would. Worth more than it costs.
